Who We Are

RF&G Life Insurance is a subsidiary of G.A. Roe and Sons, one of the largest and most successful groups of companies in Belize. The core business of RF&G Life Insurance is the provision of insurance coverage for Life and Medical Insurance. The birth of the Roe Group of Companies was marked by the purchase of an insurance agency, Horncastle (British Honduras) Ltd., from the H. Melhado Company by Mr. Gordon A. Roe, in 1963. A few years later, in 1970, G. A. Roe & Sons Ltd. established an insurance company called Fire and General Assurance Company of Belize Ltd. To carry on the operations of the agency business, G.A. Roe & Sons (Insurance Services) Ltd. was established in 1975. In 2001, G. A. Roe & Sons (Insurance Services) Ltd. was renamed F&G Insurance Agencies Ltd. The genesis of RF&G Life Insurance Company Limited came in 2005 with the purchase of the Regent Life Insurance book of business by G. A. Roe & Sons and along with the agency’s life and medical insurance line of business. RF&G Life Insurance has since grown with the acquisition of the Belize portfolio of CLICO in 2009 and of the Belize book of life insurance business of Guardian Life and ALICO in 2015.
