The Money Laundering and Terrorism (Prevention) Act Revised 2020 & Amendments 2023, requires that ALL financial institutions operating within Belize determine if a client or the beneficial owner of a company may be a Politically Exposed Person (PEP). “Domestic politically exposed person” is one who has been entrusted with a prominent public function by Belize.
